Here at Rayne Automotive, we are always trying to be as helpful as possible, answering queries and offering advice and helping to design conversions, headlight looms and more. However as you know, there are only so many hours in the day. So what we have done is put together a list of the most popular FAQs so that even when we're not in the office, we can help you get the answers you need.

Q. Where do I connect my main split charge live?
A. The main split charge live the longer of the two cables coming from the split charge relay, it is fitted with a 100A blade fuse at the vehicle connection end. This should be connected to the positive of your vehicle's main engine battery.

Q. Does my silver earth block near the control panel need earthing to the body?
A. The silver earth block is simply a hub used to tidy up the amount of earth connections and to make your install neat and tidy. There is no need to earth this to the body. We have run an earth cable from it back to the leisure battery. You will find this earth wire in the loom which runs down towards the fuse box. It's brown with a M8 eye terminal on the end. This goes onto either your earth point or the negative of your leisure battery.

Q. Which way is "ON" in my mains consumer unit?
A. With our standard double MCB and single RCD consumer unit, all of the green levers should be lifted upwards and the small square above them will be RED. This is turned on.

Q. I have a black cable that's on it's own with my split charge kit, where does this go?
A. This is most likely your leisure battery earth strap. This should go from the negative of your leisure battery to the chassis of the vehicle. Please see our earthing blog on how to make the best connection to the chassis.

Q. Is my fridge wiring 12V or 240V?
A. With most of our kits we can supply either. We nearly always supply a 12V feed. This 12V wiring will be a WHITE/BROWN loom coming straight from the fuse box. If you have a 240V fridge, the cabling will be the BLUE 3 core arctic flex, this should go into a mains 3 pin socket and the fridge can be plugged into the socket.

Q. Your overview diagram shows the leisure battery charger going straight onto the leisure battery, but I'm putting my charge at the back and my battery at the front. I've got a long red cable with a spade on the end of it, what shall I do?
A. In some cases, we do wire the kits to put the consumer unit at the opposite side of the vehicle to the leisure battery. In this instance, we will give you a charger with an extended RED positive cable to run back to the 12V fuse box located next to the leisure battery, this then plugs into the fuse box using one of the 10A fuses. The brown charger earth wire will need to be earthed to the chassis near the charger, check out our earth blog to make the best connection.
